The world's best-selling Irish whiskey. After roughly 200 years of whiskey production at Bow St distillery, Jameson distillery closed in 1971 and is now distilled at the magnificent Midleton distillery. A blend of roughly 50% pot still and 50% grain whiskey, it is matured in first fill bourbon and sherry wood for between 4-7 years. Of all whiskey brands Jamson might appeal to a wider cross section of people than any other, but this shouldn't take away from the fact that it is a very good whiskey. It has a sweet spicy nose with a touch of sherry. Medium bodied, extremely smooth, lightly oily, pot still flavours with a soft spicy finish.
